If you’re on a budget but don’t want to compromise on features and performance when it comes to RC racing boats, then read on.
The 23″ Balaenoptera Musculus Radio Remote Control Racing Boat is a full functioned radio remote control beast with dual 380 type racing motors for extra power.
The awesome large torsion Twin Propeller system ensures plenty of power and I really like the vector push design.
I just can’t believe the low price, I was looking for something to go wrong that would justify the minimal price tag. But alas, I haven’t really found anything that would lead me to believe that this machine should cost under $200.

This is a very fun, fast little boat. I am enjoying it very much. Easy to put together (battery pack, install the antenna mast (a plastic tube), and screw in the antenna on the sending unit.) It goes fast and is easy to control.
This boat is fast! I purchased it for my 9 year old son for Christmas and he loves it. The boat is extremely fast, with nice sharp turns, responds to the controller immediately.
Wow… the boat is quick. Do not expect to use this in a kiddie pool. The boat can only go forward, and turns by cutting power to one of the two props. Don’t lets its turning method discourage you I was shocked at how tight the turns were. I would estimate a turning radius of 2 feet or so.
Controls
You’ll notice how well the boat responds to the controller. It is very smooth and fast, even compared with much more expensive products.
I like the simple controls as you can get straight into it without thinking about it. There are 2 switches for the left and right engine to turn off and on. Then you have your go and forward on the left control and left/right turns on the right control. Simple.
This boat is so much fun when used in the backyard swimming pool. Even more so if you have a second boat and you can race your friend!

Negatives
Although I think this is a top notch RC boat, no review is complete without admitting faults, if there are any. You can’t expect absolute perfection at this price, but it does come close. If I had to pick out some shortcomings with the Balaenoptera Musculus, they would be:
- Battery life could be longer and more efficient. Can take up to 5 hours to fully charge, but often you can use that up in less than half an hour if you are using the boat to its maximum potential. However considering the performance of this boat, the battery life isn’t too bad.
I honestly have no other negatives to report. You’ll see that the boat has only 4 and 5 star reviews at Amazon too – not even one disgruntled customer posting a 1 star review. That certainly is an achievement!
