Corona Synthesized Receiver 4Ch 72Mhz (v2) RP4S1-72

This is a nice 72MHz receiver, there is also 35MHz, 36MHz and 40MHz versions for same price.

A full range, very light 7gr – 8gr and very flat, about 4mm thick.

This item does not require a crystal in order to work, it binds in your radio like 2.4GHz receivers does.

Cons:
*It has a quite fragile receiver antenna, be very careful with it, it will rip off very easily.
*Has only 4 servo connectors, no extra battery connector, so if you don’t have an ESC on it, you will be able to use only 3 channels.

I tested 3 already from HobbyCity.com, and one of them was faulty (Didn’t bind), so I shipped it back to them, and they replaced it for free, that’s a good service!

Its easy to bind and only needed once, but the receiver itself has kind of “bind time” when you plug in the power.
that’s makes this receiver work badly with gyros, cause lots of them has “fail safe” in them, and in the binding process each time you plug in the power, make them think you lost signal and enter the fail safe mode, and doesn’t work.

There is two solutions for this, one, witch I think is the best, is to solder a On/Off switch to the gyro servo connection to the receiver, and after the corona binds, you turn the switch on.

The other solutions is to just unplug the gyro from the receiver before the bind, and plug it back after the bind.

Both solutions work but the first one is the easiest if you fly allot.

Here is a test video with this receiver, 35MHz version:

Costs only 23.07$ a unit with unregistered shipping at HobbyCity

To use all four channels without an ESC simply use a Y connector between the Batt and Sw harness and one of the servos. Doesn’t matter which one as all proportional radio receivers have common ground and power supply loops to the servos running directly from the supply on the board.
